VOCABULARY

GEOMETRY

GEOMETRY: is a study that represents the lines or shapes and points. It comes from the greek.
POINT: is a place where two lines joind. Has not dimensions, no height and no width.
LINE: is an object of a dimension, formed by infinite points.
RAY: is a line wich begins at particular point and extends in one direction.
ENDPOINT: is the point where a segment ends or start.
MIDPOINT: is the point that is in the middle of a segment.
LINE SEGMENT: is a segment that has a beginning and final.
STRAIGHT LINE: is a line that the two points follow the same direction.
PLANE: is a two-dimensional (height and width) surfase. In the space the plane can be defined by two pararel, lines, one point and the straight line.
LENGTH: is a measurement of something from end to end.
FREEHAND: drawn by hand without instruments, measurement.
LINE/TECHNICAL DRAWING: is a drawing made with measuring instruments.
COMPASS: is a tool used to draw circles, arcs, and measuring distaces from one place to another.
PROTACTOR: is an instrument used to measure or draw angles.
SET SQUARES: there are a two rulers that have differents grad. One is called square and the other cartabon, they are used to draw angles and parallels lines.
ERASER: is an instrument thst is used to delate.
MARKER: is a pen.
RULER: is an instrument that is used to make straight lines.
.
DEFINITIONS ABOUT  ANGLES
PARALLELS: two lines wich never intersect and their points are equidistance.
PERPENDICULAR: two lines forming a raight angle or 90º angle.
OBLIQUE / SKEW: it is a line that it is not parallel and perpendicula.
ANGLE: is a two linws intersecten with a point.
RIGHT: two lines intersect 90º.
OBTUSE: two lines intersect >90º.
ACUTE: two lines intersect <90º.
FLAT: angle of 180º.
COMPLEMENTARY ANGLE: are two angles forming 90º.
SUPLEMENTARY: forming 180º.

DEFINITIONS ABOUT CIRCLES
CIRCLE: is a point at the same distance as the circunference.
CIRCUNFERENCE: is a line arround the circle.
CENTER: is a middle of a circunference.
RADIUS: is the line segment from the center to its perimiter.
CHORD: is a line wich conect two points.
ARC: is a segment of a circle.
TANGENT: is a line who touch one point of circunference.
OUTER: is a element outside of a circunference.
INNER: is a element inside of a circunference.
DIAMETER: is a line that passes for the middle.
